Home
Health Care Agencies
Home Health Care Agencies that accept Medicare and Medicaid are certified by the
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Presently, Medicare pays a
negotiated rate charge for personal care providers and licensed skilled nursing care.
Medicare services can be provided by physician order if the individual requires
considerable and taxing effort to leave the home.
In order to receive home care services through Medicaid, the individual must be approved
by the Long Term Care Options Agency or the Single Entry Point that has been designated by
the local county department of social services.
Agencies may or may not provide private pay services. Private pay rates vary. The average
hourly charge for a private pay homemaker or companion range from $13 to $17 per hour.
Certified Nursing Assistant rates vary from $16 to $20. Rates for a private duty nurse
range between $30 and $40 per hour.
