requirements for the licensure of owner/operators of personal care boarding homes
may be fulfilled by the successful completion of the Assisted Living Facility Training
Program sponsored by the Colorado Gerontological Society. In addition to required coursework, the four day session offers several elective classes - all pertinent to the care needs of the facility resident, and designed to fulfill the 15 hours of elective studies required for licensure by the Colorado Department of Health. See class list for example of the class schedule and registration form. Our next training program will be May 27-30, 2008. The training will be held at St. Joseph's Hospital, Mullen Building, Mullen Auditorium, 1895 Franklin, Denver, Colorado (go to www.mapquest.com to print a map). Parking is available in the parking garage on 19th and Franklin for a small fee; or you can find free parking several blocks to the north of the building. The Mullen Building is north of the hospital's twin towers, on the west side of Franklin. In addition to required coursework, the four day session offers several elective classes that are pertinent to the care needs of facility residents. Cost for the course for CGS members is $499. Non member fees are $450. Students must register for the complete four day course - no partial registrations will be accepted. See our course outline for the class schedule.
