Recipients of Old Age Pension eligible for dental care

Individuals with income of $536 per month, and assets of less than $2000, are eligible for one time dental care under the OAP Dental Program managed by Senior Answers and Services.

Applications for this year’s program will be accepted beginning June 1. Interested parties should forward a photocopy of their social security card, current Medicaid card, name, address and telephone number to Senior Answers and Services 3006 E Colfax, Denver, CO 80206.

Upon review by the OAP Dental Committee, the recipient will be advised to consult with their dentist for an oral exam and X-rays. The dentist will submit a treatment plan to Senior Answers.

Treatment will begin when the plan is approved, and the individual will be responsible for 20% of the cost of treatment. The remaining charges are billed to the State of Colorado.

Funding for this year’s program will begin on July 1, 2000. Applications will be accepted on June 1, and must include a Medicaid card dated no sooner than June of this year.

A list of participating dentists as well as other dental resources is available upon request to the Senior Answers staff.  Call 303.333.3482 for more information.
