Press Release -- March 17, 2005

Let Us Do The Work For You . . .

Denver, CO. Looking for help for a spouse or family member can be overwhelming, cause you to make what seems like hundreds of phone calls and feel exhausted at the end of your search, without any clear direction how to solve your problem.

The information and education sessions at the Salute to Seniors to be held on May 4 at the Colorado Convention Center can help. More than a hundred exhibitors will be on hand to discuss Medicaid, Medicare, prescription drugs, investments, home care, buying and selling a house, moving to assisted living or a nursing home or making a will.

As Medicare rolls out the new prescription drug program, Medicare and Social Security experts will describe how to sign up for the prescription drug benefit, the penalties if you sign up late, and process to choose a prescription drug plan.

Seniors often want to stay in their own home in their later years, but find themselves strapped for cash. Equity in a seniors' home is one way to access cash through a reverse mortgage. Seminars on managing a portfolio with long term care insurance, reverse mortgages, and investments are being offered.

Staying healthy is a goal of most seniors. Hints on exercise, safety, and maintaining health will be reviewed. A physical therapist will demonstrate safety and exercise. Just for fun there will be demonstrations on line dancing, tap dancing, and functional fitness for everyday living. A personal trainer will work with seniors on developing an individual exercise program.

Seniors often fear that Medicaid will take their home if they have to apply for financial assistance from the State of Colorado. An attorney will discuss Medicaid planning for families facing difficult decisions who need assistance with paying for long term care.

An informative session on hospice care which will help allay some of the fears regarding care, knowing when to use hospice care and how to pay for hospice care will be featured.

Those interested in sports can enjoy demonstrations on fly fishing, improving your golf swing, and geese calling, as well as temple rubbings.

Appearing live at the Salute to Seniors will be The Four Lads at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm. The Barrel Man from the Denver Broncos will lead off the day's entertainment. He will also be available for picture taking between shows.

General admission tickets are $7 for the first ticket and $3.50 for the second ticket. Group discounts are available at $5 each for 10 or more persons. Lunch is extra. Free parking is available near the Pepsi Center with shuttle buses running all day. Join thousands of seniors for the fun, information and education by calling 303-333-3482 to reserve your tickets!
