Complete
information about participating companies can be found in a directory prepared by the
Senate Special Committee on Aging and recently distributed to area physicians.
The publication includes an alphabetical reference of medications most frequently
prescribed to seniors, the manufacturer name, the availability of the product for free
distribution and the company's criteria for assistance.
Not all drugs are included in every program, and while some companies may only offer a
one time supply, others will provide continual assistance as long as the patient remains
in financial need.
Because requests for aid must be submitted by a physician, consumers are discouraged
from contacting the manufacturer directly.

Directory of Prescription Drug Patient Assistance Program at the PhRMA
(Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America) website.
