The Colorado Gerontological Society maintains several standing committees to meet as appropriate in order to guide and advise The Society on important issues and programs. The committees are composed of volunteers, staff and members of the board of directors who can make a valuable contribution to our mission.
Currently, The Society has two standing advisory committees; the Material Aid Advisory Committee and the Salute Planning Committee.
The Material Aid Advisory Committee supervises and assists with the management of the Material Aid Division of The Society. The Material Aid Division composes our three direct grant programs that provide financial assistance to seniors needing dental work, hearing aids or eyeglasses.
The Committee is officially responsible for assisting with the authorization and disbursement of grants to individuals for services. The Committee also considers overall division policy and provides specialized and specific advice where appropriate.
The committee includes provider representatives from each of the three programs, a funding source representative, a consumer representative and division staff. The committee meets quarterly at the Colorado Gerontological Society, 1330 Leyden St Suite 148, Denver.
Committee meetings are open to all interested persons, though an RSVP is required. For more information please call 303-333-3482 or contact us online.
The Salute Planning Committee provides advice and guidance in the preparatory stages for the Salute to Wild West event. Its responsibilities include approving floor plans, entertainment and informational programs, as well as providing a forum for Salute participants to discuss marketing, networking and goals for the event.
The Committee is composed of volunteer representatives of exhibitors, senior attendees, entertainers, members of the Board of Directors and agency staff.
The Committee meets on the fourth Friday of the month from 9:15 am to 10:30 am at Colorado Gerontological Society, 1330 Leyden St, Conference Room, Denver. Committee meetings are open to all interested persons, though an RSVP is required. For more information please call 303-333-3482 or contact us online.
