Affordable housing in Colorado is very limited. While most older adults want to age in place, the Coalition is reviewing state policies, advocating with the state policy makers including the Legislative Interim Committee on Affordable Housing and the Sub-Panel of experts on the affordable housing needs of older adults. Advocates are working to create common understanding of affordable housing for renters and homeowners, wrap-around and supportive services required to stay in one’s own home, and an awareness campaign to improve knowledge and understanding of the services available.
