Why Mental Health First Aid?

Improve the quality of life and learn how to assist and support older adults who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge by getting certified in a evidenced-based, early intervention training program.  Older adults have high rates of late-onset mental health challenges, like anxiety and depression, and low rates of identification and treatment.

  2. Risk factors and protective factors specific to older adults
  3. Applying the Mental Health First Aid Plan (ALGEE) in scenarios designed to reflect the unique needs and experiences of older adults.
  4. National, regional and community mental health resources for older adults and their caregivers.
