Hundreds of Americans will be enrolling in Medicare. While enrolling in Medicare seems simple, the process can be very complex if individuals are not receiving Social Security at age 65, but the wants to enroll in Medicare at age 65 during the initial enrollment period.
However, not everyone enrolls in Medicare during the initial enrollment period. Instead, some individuals need to use the special enrollment period. Depending on the reason they are exercising the special enrollment period, the date prior coverage stops, and the date Medicare coverage begins must be coordinated according to Social Security rules to avoid penalties.
In these sessions, we will discuss the process to enroll in Medicare depending on your circumstances. The Society is offering virtual meetings by Zoom.
