The National Council on Aging and Silvernest invite you to join us for lunch and a dialogue on November 24, 2015 from 11 am to 1 pm at Denver Regional Council of Government, Area Agency on Aging, 1290 Broadway, Denver (Wolf Creek Pass Conference Room) to discuss a new model of shared housing being developed in the Denver area directed at older adults. The primary age demographic is 55 to 72.
Silvernest is a unique roommate-matching service for boomers and empty nesters who have space to share. Silvernest uses the strengths of technology to match individuals who own a home and have rooms to share with other older adults.
Potential renters build a profile and list the amenities and other needs of what they are looking for in a home. Owners publish a listing, potential renters browse the available homes, and reach out when they find a home they are interested in learning more about.
Silvernest is looking to begin marketing to the organizations currently working with older adults who have clients who might want a roommate to share their home OR who are looking to share a home with someone in the community.
While Silvernest provides such things as templates for leases, online payment of rent, and other amenities, Silvernest is also building their relationships with agencies serving seniors to help solve problems that might arise between renters and owners such as legal services, adult protection, and other consumer protections.
The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the Silvernest product, to look at ways of making the services available to seniors who come in contact with agencies who serve seniors looking housing options, and ways to ensure that both consumers and owners are protected to ensure a positive experience.
Please join us on November 24 from 11 am to 1 pm. RSVP below or by calling 303-333-3482.
The meeting is being sponsored by National Council on Aging and Silvernest. It is being hosted by Denver Regional Council of Governments Area Agency on Aging, and organized by the Colorado Gerontological Society.
