Join the Colorado Gerontological Society for a virtual meeting at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 16, 2022 for National Health Care Decisions Day.
We will present an overview of advance care planning to meet your needs in the future for health and medical care, as well as financial responsibilities.
Many people think of advance care planning as “I’ll do it some day”. But everyone should have advance care directives. At a minimum, everyone 18 years of age and over should have a designated medical and financial power of attorney.
A medical power of attorney can make decisions for you about your health care, housing and other personal needs. A financial power of attorney can make decisions for you about paying your bills and meeting your other financial needs.
Some people have additional types of medical directives including do not resuscitate orders, orders for advanced conditions and other health care decisions.
