Assisted Living Residence Administrator Training
Basic Requirements
A 1.5-hour orientation;
And
The 40-hour full training prior to assuming the administrator position; As of July 1, 2019, all individuals wanting to be an ALR administrator must take the 40 hour class and pass the competency exam
All individuals who own or operate an assisted living in Colorado must be certified
Administrator Training Components
Orientation
Individuals in the 40-hour course are required to attend a mandatory one and one/half-hour virtual orientation session.
The virtual orientation session will cover logistics of training participation, including scheduling, instruction times, group and class work, independent study, access to materials, testing details and questions, and more.
Online Competency Test
Individuals taking the 40-hour administrator class are required to pass a competency test to demonstrate a comprehensive, evidence-based understanding of the Chapter 7 rules, regulations and topics. The test is open book, taken online and must be completed within 10 days of completing the course.
Testing requirements are announced during the class.

The course content meets rigorous standards set by the Colorado Department of Health and Environment to ensure that assisted living administrators are equipped to ensure the health and safety of their residents.

Policies
Proof of Identity & Lawful Presence
The State of Colorado requires that all class participants must prove identity to receive a certificate of completion of the administrator training.
You will be required to sign a copy of the state approved form documenting lawful presence and submit a copy of a current Colorado Driver’s License; current Colorado non-driver identification card; current US federal, state or local government-issued identification (including military); current tribal enrollment card with photo or other form of photo tribal identification; current passport, or current student identification.

Refunds & Cancelations
All cancellations must be received in writing five days prior to the session.
A $100 processing fee will be charged for all cancellations. Refunds will be made approximately thirty days after the training in the same payment method as the original registration.
Individuals who cancel less than one week prior to the start of the training will not be entitled to a refund.
