Mental Health First Aid is designed to equip individuals with the skills to recognize, understand, and respond to signs of mental health issues and crises. Much like physical first aid, it empowers participants to provide initial support to someone experiencing a mental health challenge until professional help is available. Learning about mental health first aid helps reduce stigma around mental health challenges, promotes early intervention, and fosters a more supportive community. By equipping caregivers with these vital skills, we create safer environments where older adults feel empowered to seek help and support. Individuals who complete a course are certified by National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
The Mental Health First Aid course teaches about recovery and resiliency – the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and use their strengths to stay well. Cost is $250 per person.
