On July 1, 2014 the new mandatory elder abuse reporting law went into effect in Colorado. On July 1, 2016 the law expanded to include mandatory reporting of any “at-risk” adult age 18 and over and also expanded the scope of individuals required to report.
Mandatory reporters include medical professionals, counselors, spiritual leaders, financial organizations, social workers, law enforcement agencies and many more. Join us at a workshop to learn about the new law and how it impacts you and your organization. Get your tool kit and prepare yourself by attending our Elder Abuse Reporting Workshops.
The Workshops will cover:
- Types of elder abuse
- Responsibility as a mandatory reporter
- Who to contact and how to report suspected elder abuse
- What to report to law enforcement
- When to call Adult Protective Services
